The Battle of Brietown

Image
The vision came to Kresla the Pale suddenly and violently. When she had recovered from her fit she reported to her Lord-Infernal surprising news; Arch-Warlock John Cheese, of the Supreme Clan Mightclaw, was barracked nearby. And what was more he was relatively defenceless, accompanied only by his Acolytes and hangers-on. Traxus Oathkeeper acted quickly, gathering the True Children and moving on Brietown with full force. When the news of the impending battle reached John Cheese he panicked, knowing that he would not hold out for long. He ran to the farsqueeker, sending out desperate threats and pleas for aid to the fearsome Clawlord Dave the Rat. Given the urgency of the situation Dave advised that he could help, but it would cost significantly extra. Even in this time of impending doom Cheese refused to be blackmailed, demanding that he pay Dave the regular rate. Dave acquiesced, agreeing that he would be there to help defend the Arch-Warlock, but making sure to emphasize t...

Raid on the Deepkin

Yesterday I played a small 750 point game with my workmate Olga, who is trying out Age of Sigmar and will be my buddy at a doubles event coming up. We've been playing practice games to learn, and she has been using a Deepkin list of many Namarti and a turtle. I ran my True Children for the first time, Lord-Infernal Traxus leading two retinues of Chaos Warriors and his chosen Knights.  The game was a simple one, with Traxus and his Knights flanking on the left and the Warriors marching up the centre and the right. Despite his devastating reputation he only killed a single Thrall, and was in turn quickly cut down. An ignominious beginning for the Lord-Infernal! The second was the inability for the Thralls and Reavers to kill the remaining Chaos Knight, a Doom Knight, who remained u...

And we will prove it to you." - Kresla, Knight-Malefactor of the True Children The True Children, an unholy warband of the Slaves to Darkness, are my attempt to really push the narrative in my Age of Sigmar games. Since I began Age of Sigmar in 2016, I've always tried to include at least a facade of narrative in my armies. However I have been conscious that I have never carved out a place for my little plastic warriors in the Mortal Realms. With the True Children I hope to build and grow the narrative, create characters, and infuse my games with a bit of narrative passion. The story The True Children were originally devotees of Sigmar, warriors who took up arms to defend their homes against Chaos. They had faith that Sigmar would save them, but he didn't. The Stormcast never came, their homes were burnt to the g...
